Dorothy Schmidt was born on September 6, 1935 and left us on November 18, 2019. She was born in Brocket, ND to Marie and Torvold Skjerseth. She graduated from Brocket High School in 1953 and moved to Minneapolis, MN. On December 10, 1960, Dorothy married her brother-in-law’s brother, Delmore Schmidt. They lived in Roseville, MN until 1997. Eventually they retired and then moved to Apache Wells in Mesa, AZ. Dorothy was active in her church, serving as wedding coordinator and president of the alter guild for many years.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ralph, Knute, Donald, and John Allen; and sister, Carol. She is survived by her husband, Delmore; sons, Douglas of Fountain Hills, AZ and David (Jenny) of Malvern, PA; grandchildren, Elliott of Los Angeles, CA, Clinton of San Francisco, CA, and Elena and Rebecca of Malvern, PA; sisters, Gunny of Lakota, ND and Linda (Lory) of Manhattan, KS; brother, Melvin of Lakota, ND; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services were held at the Apache Wells Community Church in Mesa, AZ on November 27, 2019.
