Efrain “Frank” Torres, a devoted follower of Christ, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. Frank was surrounded by his loving wife, Fernanda, and their three sons, Franky Torres, Diego F. Torres, and Alejandro J. Torres, at the time of his passing after a long and tough battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lidia Mendoza Torres.
Frank served the community for 20 years as a Mesa Police Officer, retiring in 2009. After retirement from public service, Frank started a new career as a wrestling coach and became known to many students and parents across Arizona as “Coach” Torres during his time at several high schools, most notably Casteel High School in Chandler, Arizona. He continued to love, mentor, and inspire the many students under his care with his strong faith and love of Jesus until the time of his passing.
Frank leaves behind his brothers, Ricardo M. Torres and Diego M. Torres; his sister, Herlinda Graham; his sister-in-law, Jeanne Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved, mentored, and influenced with his great sense of humor and unwavering faith. We look forward to seeing him again in heaven.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Rockpoint Church, 24759 S. Power Road Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
