Gary L. Kleinert, also known as “Paw-Paw”, “Tiny”, or “Guido”, Age 66, passed away in his home in Apache Junction, AZ on Sunday, January 28th, 2018 after his year-long battle with cancer.
Gary was born in Flint, MI, was an Army Veteran and retired from AC Spark Plug of Flint in 1998. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He had a love for anything with a motor, a good meal, outdoor views, music and movies, collecting firearms & knives and getting tattoos done by his nephew Chad. Most of all, Gary was devoted to spending quality time with his family and friends. He was a genuine man with an infectious laugh and smile and a kind heart that touched many. His calm demeanor, soothing voice, listening ear, and infamous quotes such as “don’t sweat the small stuff” will never be forgotten.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Diana, father, Jim, brother Murray (Julie), 3 children, David (Alicia), Crystal, Darron (Veronica), 2 step-sons Scott (Von) and Lance (Kris), 4 grandchildren, William, Abbi, Caleb and Hunter & 1 great grandchild, Exavior, as well as his beloved extended family daughter, Aurora (Miguel), 3 grandchildren, Kevin, Marcos and Andrees, and 5 great grandchildren, Chelsea, Melody, Harmony, Leia and Pierson. He was preceded in death by his Mother, Phyllis, sister Wanda and best friend Tom McFate.
There will be a casual memorial luncheon and gathering to celebrate Gary’s life held at the Auto City Eagles of Mt. Morris, MI on February 17th at 2pm. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or mailed to: American Cancer Society PO Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
