Gus James Jickess, age 64, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, in Mesa, Arizona.
He was born on May 14, 1961, in Tempe, Arizona, to the late Basil and Sarah Jickess.
Gus had a lifelong passion for the culinary arts and built a successful career as an executive chef, working in multiple restaurants over the years. He took great pride in his craft and was known for his dedication and skill in the kitchen. Outside of work, Gus enjoyed playing basketball and fixing cars, pursuits that reflected both his energy and his hands-on nature.
Gus is survived by his son, Justin Jickess; his daughter, Justina (Jarred) Reardon; his beloved grandchildren, Maiya and Jax; and his sister, Joanne Jickess.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Sarah Jickess, and his older sister, Laurie Campos.
At the family’s request, no services will be held at this time.
