GILBERT: Jeff Ashcraft passed away on May 14, 2024. He was hospitalized for complications due to metastatic cancer and passed away peacefully less than a week after being admitted to the hospital.
Jeff was born on June 14, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio and remained in the Cincinnati area for the vast majority of his life. Jeff was a successful real estate agent and worked for Hague Realtors for decades. Jeff branched out and started his own custom homebuilding business—Ashcraft Homes, Inc. which built almost twenty custom homes around Cincinnati.
Family was an integral part of Jeff’s life. He married Susan in 1972 and they enjoyed almost 52 years of marriage. He and Susan moved to Gilbert, Arizona in 2017 to be close to their only son Damon and his family. He enjoyed his time in Arizona and spent many days doing puzzles, enjoying his favorite restaurants, and spending time with his grandchildren whom he loved immensely.
Jeff had a thirst for knowledge and would read extensively about the Civil War. He also enjoyed fishing and taking fishing trips with his cousins in Louisiana. Jeff was a regular attendee at Epiphany Lutheran Church, in Chandler, Arizona and his family takes comfort in his faith in the Lord Jesus.
Jeff is survived by his wife Susan, son Damon Ashcraft (Liz), grandsons Levi Ashcraft and Seth Ashcraft, and his brother Jim Ashcraft (Beverly). He is preceded in death by his brother, Dale Ashcraft (Barbara) and his parents Melvin and Clara Ashcraft.
A Memorial Service will be held at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 800 W. Ray Road in Chandler on Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00 in the morning. Jeff will be buried at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Cincinnati, Ohio later this summer. Donations to the American Cancer Society are welcome in Jeff’s honor.
