Jonathan Jackson, 64, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on July 18th, 2026. He was born on May 9th, 1962, in Mesa, Arizona to Edyth Bernice Jackson and Verald Rodwell V.R. Jackson.
Jon grew up in Snowflake, Arizona and attended Snowflake Highschool. He studied business management at BYU, and later obtained an MBA from ASU. He worked for many years at Hewlett Packard, then at their spinoff Agilent Technologies. His roles included financial controller, emerging business development director, and national sales manager. In 2008 he changed industries and worked as a loan officer and a private lending manager/small business owner. He was a brilliant businessman.
Jon was known for his outgoing nature, generosity, and work ethic. He had a deep passion for missionary work and helping people. He could often be found dropping off gifts, money, or just stopping by to visit for hours and hours. He loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas, and his decorations grew in size and scope every year.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he contributed to missionary and temple work and found great value in his membership. As a young adult, he learned Portuguese and served a mission in Curitiba, Brazil. For many years he co-managed the Mesa Temple Christmas Lights, and also participated in the Easter Pageant.
He is survived by his children, Joshua and Kaitlyn, Natalie and Spencer Kincheloe, Sarah, Allison and Kevin Forrest, Christina, Jared and Rachel, and Madilynn; his grandchildren, Emma (12), Ella (7), Simon (7), Henry (6), Nora (5), and Will (1); his siblings, Jeanette, Lorraine and David Nelson, Steven and Cheryl Allred, Nancy and Larry Titus, and Joseph; and his dear friend Alec.
He was preceded in death by his parents V.R. Jackson, and Edyth Bernice Allred Jackson.
A funeral service will take place on July 25th, 2026 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1852 N. Stapley Dr. Mesa, AZ 85203
Burial will follow on July 26th at 11:00 AM, at the R.V. “Mike” Ramsay Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake, Arizona.
Jonny will be remembered for his kindness, big heart, and willingness to help anyone in need around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He would often say, “Remember who you are, and the legacy you carry.”
