Darrell Rae “Del Rae” LaFour, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017. Born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Richard and Gertha Nations, Del Rae lived most of her adult life in Liberty, Texas. She spent much of her business career within the insurance industry, later to have ownership of an insurance/real estate agency. Her last business venture was ownership of a floral shop in Liberty. Upon retiring in 1994, she and her husband “Rass” moved to a retirement community in Mesa, Arizona.
Del Rae is survived by her husband of 12 years, Alfred Prince, daughter, Gloria (Clark) Kretzschmer of Dolores, Colorado, stepdaughters, Jene’ Prince of Phoenix, Arizona and Julie Prince of Ecuador; grandchildren, Gary (Lisa) Kretzschmer of Mustang, Oklahoma, Cheryl (Jim) Hill of Brighton, Colorado and Nathan Prince of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers Hugh Nations of Austin, Texas and Richard (Henrietta) Nations of Mesa, Arizona, and nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, I.D. “Rass” LaFour, and sister, Jerry Krueger of Mesa, Arizona.
A Memorial Service will be held at Apache Wells Community Church, 2115 N. Gayridge Road, Mesa, Arizona, January 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., with a Celebration of Life reception immediately following at Palmas del Sol clubhouse, 6209 E. McKellips Road, Mesa, Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower Street, Phoenix, Arizona 85014.
