Marilyn P. Free, 79 passed away on November 2, 2020 in Mesa, AZ.
Marilyn was born in Memphis, TN to Myron B. Pelkey Sr and Doris Grosmann Pelkey on December 9, 1941. She went to school at Little Flower elementary and Sacred Heart High School in Memphis, TN. Marilyn was the widow of William Henry (Bill) Free. She worked as a mortgage and loan specialist for most of her life, first at Leader Federal Savings and Loan and later Home Federal Savings and Loan, before finishing her career at Bank Tennessee. She and her husband Bill loved square dancing. She enjoyed taking cruises and traveling with her long time companion, Richard McKitrick. She was a long time member of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish where she served as an Eucharist Minister.
Marilyn spent nearly her entire life in her hometown of Memphis, TN until recent health issues necessitated a move to Arizona to be near her daughter Kathy.
Marilyn is survived by son Ronald Dykeman and his wife Roxanne of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Kathy Dykeman Davis and her husband Larry of Apache Junction, AZ, son William Henry Free Jr. and his wife Jessica of Trumann, AK, brother Myron B. Pelkey Jr. and sister-in-law Lisa Lee Pelkey of Memphis, three grandchildren, one great grandchild.
In lieu of memorials the family would ask you to donate to your favorite worthwhile charity. Memorial services will be conducted at a later time and place to be determined in the future.
