Marvin Spencer, 92 years old, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 20, 2023 at home. He lived in Apache Junction with his wife Gwendolyn, daughter Rose, and son-in-law Frank. Marvin is survived by his brother Meryl and family, his daughter Rose, her children Mike, Heather, Angel and children. Marvin has three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. With a forthcoming marriage, he would have another grandchild and another three great grandchildren.
Marvin, or “Spence” as he was often called by others, was a devoted brother, father, grandfather and husband. He was fortunate to find his wife early, to love her until her passing and continue to spend his time surrounded by family. He enjoyed the sights of the Superstition Mountains while living in the foothills where he would gaze at the beautiful landscape and watch wildlife, especially birds. He was a war veteran and is proud to have served his country. It was an honor to honor to know him. As much as we miss him, we understand that his wife and youngest daughter needed him more.
The graveyard service will be held at Phoenix Memorial Park on February 24, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. where Marvin and his wife’s ashes will be laid to rest together next to their daughter, Sandy.

I only had the pleasure of knowing Grandpa for a short time, but in that short time I did, I was in the presence of a great man. Grandpa truly portrayed the image of a family man from his actions and stories. The smile on his face during family functions, how he laughed, and how he interacted with everyone will truly live in my memory. It would be an honor if I could be half the man you were when I get to that age, grandpa.
