The Rev Frank S. White was called home to his heavenly Father on Sunday, October 11th, 2020 at his home in Tempe, AZ.
Frank was born in Kentucky on December 1st, 1931 to Frank B. and Marian (Katterhenry) White, one of three children. He graduated from Indiana Central College and Union Theological seminary. Frank served as the chaplain at the Ohio Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Orphans Home in Xenia, OH; and pastored a Church of the Brethren congregation in Terre Haute, Indiana and Presbyterian churches in Ft Wayne and Indianapolis, Indiana; Napa, California; and Mesa, Arizona during a long pastoral career. Frank emphasized pastoral care and social justice in his ministry.
Frank and his wife Joan enjoyed RVing around the US for a time, visiting their far flung children and grandchildren. For the last 20+ years, they have lived at Friendship Village in Tempe, where they have made many wonderful friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Joan; sister, Peggy Frazel; children, Ben and Lindy White, Julie Stewart and Jim Bodenhamer, David White and Karen Benson, Bruce and Kay White, Liz and Mike Benson, Steve and Jamie Skadra, and Debbie Blake; grandchildren, Sarah, Jenna, Amanda, Allie, Isaac, Leandra, Noah, Liam, Zoe, Steven, James, Tina, Sara, Katie, Gordon, Lauren, Jack, Payton, Brydie, Sarah Jane, and Lindsey; and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Terry White, first wife, Betty White, and daughter-in-law, Dianne White.
Frank’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service on Saturday, October 17th at 10:00 am at the First Presbyterian Church, 161 N Mesa Dr., Mesa AZ. Friends and family may also join the service online at this link: https://youtu.be/wZt2Fp6RUfM
