Robert Edwin Prouty

Robert (Bob) Edwin Prouty, age 72, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on November 8, 2023.  Bob was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 7, 1951.  Bob lived in Kingston, Minnesota as an infant before heading west to grow up in the Pacific Northwest at the age of three. Bob met his wife Bonnie climbing up and onto the apartment balcony of his close friends who were hosting Bonnie on a visit to Oregon from her home in Minnesota.  Robert and Bonnie were married on February 17, 1973. They were blessed with two children, Jonathan (Heather) and their three children, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Aidan; and Skyler.

Bob was a structural steel detailer and founded firms in Duluth, Minnesota and later in Mesa, Arizona.  Bob was a DIY enthusiast and embraced the challenges of any construction project. Bob loved the outdoors and one of his passion projects was building an off-the-grid cabin in Seligman, Arizona. Bob loved the Lord and his faith gave him strength especially during his battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was an incredible father to his kids Jonathan and Skyler, father-in-law to Heather, grandfather to Andrew, Kaitlyn and Aidan, and husband to his wife Bonnie of 50 years. Bob’s memories will live on through the hands and hearts of all the lives he has touched over the years.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Mary (Lytikainen) Prouty; his brothers James and Tom. He is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings: Mike and Teresa.

A memorial service will be held in January with details to follow.

Should friends and family desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or other charity of your choice.

A celebration of life service will be January 20th, 2024 at First Baptist Church; Chandler, Arizona 85248 at 11am. Refreshments and lunch to follow at the church. EVERYONE is welcome.
