Obituary
Rosalie (Rosie) Hammerly left this earth at age 77 on the wings of an angel on August 23, 2020. She was a longtime resident of Mesa, Arizona.
She was born in El Campo, Texas on September 27, 1942 to Marion Franklin Stancliff Sr. and Roma Rosalie (Klatt) Stancliff.
She is preceded in death by her parents Marion Franklin Stancliff Sr. and Roma Rosalie (Klatt) Stancliff; Brothers Marion Stancliff Jr, and Robert Wayne Stancliff, Sisters Barbara Sue Stancliff and Marian Frances Evans, and grandson Michael Burrows.
She is survived by Husband James (Jim) Hammerly, daughter Kamei Burrows, and friend Lester; grandson Nicholas Burrows and Krista Rushing, great grandson Linkoln Burrows, and great granddaughter Sutton; also 4 sisters Joann (Stancliff) Fabrygel and husband Jerry, Evelyn Rasmussen, Rebecca Warrenton and husband Lloyd, and Virginia Pratka and her husband David, also numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
She graduated from El Campo High School in 1961 in El Campo, Texas.
She retired from the business office of American West Airlines in Phoenix, AZ.
She was a member of VFW Auxiliary #1760, Moose Lodge Women of The Moose, and American Legion. She served in positions of President, Treasurer, and District President of Mesa VFW Auxiliary #1760. She was voted Queen of Hearts at the Moose Lodge in Arizona, and was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary.
When she was growing up she loved going fishing and picking up oysters with her dad.
She enjoyed visiting her many friends at the local VFW# 1760, American Legion and the Moose Lodge and sharing in the fun celebrations. She was a happy friendly person who loved traveling, visiting with grandchildren and great grandchildren, tending to her beautiful roses in her yard, and watching wrestling on TV every week.
