Sally Hanye

IN MEMORIAM
Sally Zettwoch Hanye

Sally (Zettwoch) Hanye passed over to join her beloved husband Harry on May 1, 2021 at her home in San Tan Valley, Arizona. Born in New York City on October 19, 1923, she was the daughter of Alfred and Anna Jane (Brecht) Zettwoch. Sally was the last survivor of her generation having been predeceased by her siblings Nick, Eddie, Dora, Walter Lilly, Florence and Betty. She is survived by her two sons, Robert and his wife Susan of Maryville, TN and Kenneth of San Tan Valley; four grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Heather and Adam; and five great grandchildren, Jacob, Otto, Elena, Benjamin and Cody.
Just prior to and during WWII, Sally worked at an assembly job for Sperry Gyroscope in NY where she met Harry. After his service as a bomber pilot in the war, the couple raised their sons in Farmingdale (LI) NY. After retirement, they moved to St. Augustine South, FL. Upon Harry’s passing, Sally moved to San Tan Valley to be near her son Ken.
For many years, Sally was the “Tie that Binds” in the family. She was the one whom many of her nieces and nephews talked with on a regular basis extending family ties that tend to fade as the generations move on.
Please consider donations in her name to the charity of your choice.

I already miss the wonderful talks as you took your walks to the mailbox. It was truly a gift to have you as a friend and neighbor. Your spirit and strength was inspiring. Give my Nonna and Gram Irene hugs. I can just imagine the fun the three of you will have in Heaven. Rest well.
