Thomas Edward Bybee, 61, born September 12, 1960, (beloved father, grandpa, brother, and friend), passed peacefully from this life into His Heavenly Father’s embrace May 1, 2022, at his home in Apache Junction, AZ. He grew up and attended several years of school earning multiple degrees and eventually graduating with a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Walden University. He served an honorable full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Alabama Birmingham Mission and ultimately dedicated the rest of his life to being a consecrated disciple of Jesus Christ. On November 7, 1992, he married his wife and best friend, Rita Bybee, in the SLC Temple. He was a devoted husband and father whose family meant everything to him. Thomas fulfilled many callings including a high priest group leader, elders quorum president, gospel doctrine teacher, Sunday school teacher, Sunday school president, ward missionary, temple ordinance worker, and many other callings. Thomas was a brilliant man, fascinated by gospel doctrine, history, and mechanics, and loved to spend time when he had an opportunity discussing the Gospel with others. He was a natural gifted teacher who wholeheartedly embraced it when given the opportunity to teach. He is remembered by all who knew him as one who spent his entire life selflessly helping and serving others. In spite of hardship and trials he had faced throughout his life, he found joy in the midst of it through his loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was determined that “failure is not an option,” and led a dedicated, determined life in pursuing his goals. Thomas is preceded in death by his father Don and a younger brother Joe. Thomas is survived by his wife, Rita, parent Barbara (Selby) Jeffs, and his children, Richard (Sarah), Benjamin (Michelle), Sarah (Michael), Kevin, Angela (Daniel), and Tiana; and 7 wonderful grandchildren.
