Wayne Gordon Kjorvestad

Wayne Gordon Kjorvestad, 78, passed away on March 28, 2026, from natural causes at home in Queen Creek, Arizona.

Wayne was born on August 1, 1947, in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Gordon Oliver Kjorvestad and Betty Lou Olson. He grew up in Banning, CA with his younger sister, Ranae and younger brother, Dale. He was happily married to his high school sweetheart, Deborah Jean Holt, for 57 years. He was drafted to the Army in April 1968 and was honorably discharged as Sergeant E-5 in January 1971. Co C 141st Sig Bn 1st Armd Div Fort Hood, Texas. After the army, he started his lifelong career as a tele-communications engineer.

Wayne was very active in his Encanterra Community and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served faithfully. In his youth, he loved playing all sports, with Baseball being his favorite. He was drafted out of high school to the California Angels. In his retirement years he enjoyed playing Bocce Ball, Bowling, Cornhole, Mexican Train and cards. He led a group of friends, teaching them how to play Bocce and the group has continued to play weekly for 4 years.

One of his greatest treasures, besides his wife, are his 6 children: Chris, Josh, David, Amanda, Aleina and Lesley. His posterity includes 23 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, son David and grandson baby Tryston. He is survived by his wife, sister, brother, 5 children, 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on April 7, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1150 W Combs Rd, Queen Creek, AZ. Everyone is welcome to come and give condolences prior to the services as early as 9 AM. He will be buried at San Tan Memorial Gardens following the funeral service. The family will be available to visit at the Algarve at Encanterra at 2 PM.
