Weber-Jourdan, Shirley Mae

Weber-Jourdan, Shirley Mae

Long time Mesa, AZ resident Shirley Weber-Jourdan bid family and friends a loving farewell and claimed her heavenly reward on January 30, 2018. She was delighted in the prospect of her new life in the presence of the Lord.

Shirley was born in Merrill, WI almost 91 years ago and always remained young in heart and spirit. She was married to Franklin Weber, also of Merrill, for 46 years. They had five children: Jeffrey Weber (wife Joy Hoffman) of Merrill, WI; Kathleen Rottweiler (husband Roland) of Bandera, TX; Laurie Kesting (husband Ronald) of Mesa, AZ; along with Theresa Weber and Steven Weber who predeceased both parents.

Shirley was known for being an outstanding retail sales woman, winning many awards, and co-owned Weber’s Sales and Service. She and Franklin moved to Arizona in 1970 where they owned and managed rental properties until retirement. After Franklin’s death in 1992, she married Dale Jourdan in 1996, a lifelong friend and retired Lieutenant with the Wauwatosa, WI Police Department. They enjoyed living in Sunland Village for many years and loved music, dancing, poetry, card and board games, dressing up as clowns and bringing laughter to those in nursing homes, helping others, and visiting with family and friends. After Dale’s death in 2012, Shirley continued helping others. At 89 she was still delivering food to those less fortunate through the St. Vincent De Paul food program at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mesa.

Shirley was known for her unselfish, unconditional love given freely and wholeheartedly. She was a woman of faith, full of cheer, kindness, and sweetness with a helping heart and a spirit willing to do anything for those she lovedÂ… and even those she didn’t know on a personal level. She loved playing the organ and bringing a smile to other people’s faces.

Besides her children, she is survived by her loving sister Margie Riley of Lake Havasu City, AZ, grandchildren Danny Weber (wife Galina) of Fort Ripley, MN; Debi Harding (husband Elliott) of Rapid City, SD; David Weber (wife Christina) of Mesa, AZ; Thomas Cordaro (wife Dina) of Warwick, NY; great-grandchildren Samuel and Alexander Weber and Ethan, Dylan, Owen, and Nathan Cordaro; step-grandchildren Jason, Chris, and Paul Jourdan, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1244 S. Power Road, Mesa, AZ 85206 on February 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.

I have very fond memories of Aunt Shirley and her family from many trips to Merrill with my dad and Uncle Ray. She was a great woman and I will miss her.
