William Darnell

William K. Darnell (Ken) was born in North Carolina on February 8, 1933 and passed away on January 9, 2015.  He was 81 years old.

The family moved to South Dakota when Ken was 12.  He attended high school in Miller, SD where he met his wife, Nancy.  He married his high school sweetheart in 1954 and they celebrated their 60^th anniversary in March of 2014.

Ken was in the Air Force for 10 years and the couple spent 2 of those years in Japan.  Ken and his family have lived in South Dakota, Minnesota, Colorado and also spent winters in Arizona for the past 12 years.  Ken enjoyed gold mining, fishing on the Missouri River and playing poker with his friends in Orangewood Shadows.  He loved sitting out in the sun and visiting with folks when they went by.  Before becoming so ill, he enjoyed helping others with anything and always had a great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Boon and Lida Darnell, his brother, Graham and his daughter, Mille Ann Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, daughter Denise Deese, son, Bill Darnell, Jr., 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
