Obituary

Our beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather George Marquez departed this world on March 9, 2026. George was born on February 21, 1944 in Riverside, California to Luis and Catalina Marquez. He was raised in Hemet California, where he resided for 80 years. A month after his 81st birthday he moved to Arizona to be closer to family. It was a move he never dreamt possible, although brief the move brought him so much peace and happiness. George was a devoted husband to his wife Christina of 51 years. He was a dedicated father to his children Kimberly (Ralph) and Michael (Anaiah). And was a loving grandfather to his 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, whom he adored. Family is what he treasured most, which is evident in all the memories he captured on film and in photos. George has always been described as a kind and humble man. He always put others needs ahead of his own especially when it came to his family. He gave of himself so selflessly never expecting anything in return. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was part of the 1st Logistics Command 27th Battalion 8th group 444 transportation based in Qui Nhon. He was a survivor of the TET Offensive 1968. He later became a truck driver for Waste Management for 32 years and was awarded many accolades for his dedication and years of service. George was an avid lover of music. He loved playing guitar, which he taught himself to play. His humor and laughter was contagious to everyone around him. He is proceeded in death by his loving wife, mother, father, sister and 2 brothers. He will be missed beyond measure, but his memory will live on through the music he loved and the cherished memories we keep.

Service will be held at a later date.
