Obituary

Michael Allen Morris, 59, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, at Lund Home (Hospice of the Valley) in Gilbert, Arizona, after a courageous battle with Stage 3 Squamous Cell Lung Cancer. Born on October 22, 1966, in Mesa, Arizona, Michael lived a life defined by hard work, devotion to family, and an enduring sense of humor.

Michael attended Mountain View High School but did not graduate. He began his professional journey as a drywall hanger, dedicating ten years to the trade before discovering his passion for semi-trucks. This newfound interest led to a fulfilling 28-year career as a dump truck driver—a profession he truly loved and took great pride in.

A devoted husband and father, Michael is survived by his wife, Anita Morris; his son, Caiden Carter “Reeves”; and his daughter, Jessica Mulbrook “Morris.” He was also a proud grandfather to Jadith Reeves, Maverick Reeves, Samara Morris Mulbrook, Leon Morris Mulbrook, and Alessa Morris Mulbrook. Michael’s surviving siblings include his brother David Morris and sister Pamela Wright.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kennith Morris and Nancy Ramlow “Ehrke,” as well as his sisters Leslie Farnsworth and Jackie Schwitzer. Other family members who preceded him in death include Fred Farnsworth (brother-in-law), Judith Carter (mother-in-law), Grady Carter (father-in-law), and grandson Michael Reeves “Carter.”

Michael found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He cherished evenings spent with Anita and their beloved cat Moo Puppy—sharing meals, watching television together, and enjoying each other’s company. His grandchildren brought him immense happiness, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Even when separated by distance, Michael made it a priority to stay connected with family through phone calls.

A man of faith, Michael was a Christian who once attended church regularly until declining health led him to practice from the comfort of home. His unwavering belief provided strength throughout his illness.

Michael will be remembered for his dedication to providing for those he loved within the limits of his abilities. His humor was infectious—his laugh could brighten any room—and he had an unforgettable smile that reflected the warmth of his heart. Above all else, he will be missed for the deep love he shared with family and friends.

In accordance with Michael’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him and serve as a reminder of the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
