Some people believe that they are limited in the service options available to them if they choose cremation. This is not true. Those who choose cremation have the option to have visitations and funeral services, just like those who choose burial. Below are the service and merchandise options available to those who choose cremation for their loved one.
Visitation
A visitation, often called a viewing, is an opportunity for friends and family to gather socially, usually with the casket and deceased loved one present. In the case of cremation, a cremation casket can be purchased, or a casket with a special insert can be rented from the funeral home.
Visitations can be done at one of our facilities, or at another location of your choice. They can be open to the public or by invitation only.
Funeral Services
A funeral service is a more formal setting that allows friends and family to gather and celebrate the life of their lost loved one. It typically includes written speeches, songs, and shared memories, but of course, you can celebrate in the way you see fit.
A funeral usually takes place in one of our chapels, or at an offsite church building.
The word "funeral" implies that the body is present.
Memorial Service
A memorial service is just like a funeral service in terms of purpose, form, and location. However, at a memorial service, the body of the deceased person is not present, or is present after the cremation has taken place.
Identification Viewing
An identification viewing is typically a short, private gathering that allows your family to spend time with your loved one's body before the cremation process begins.
Many funeral homes charge extra for this viewing, but at A Wise Choice, we see it as an important part of the healing process. As such, it is included in our basic cremation service.
Lantern Release
A lantern release is a beautiful and meaningful way to honor your loved one. Gather with family and friends as you release lanterns into the sky, symbolizing the light and love your loved one brought into the world.

Catered Reception
After a funeral, memorial, or cremation service, many families choose to gather for a reception. We can arrange catered receptions at our facilities so your guests can share a meal and memories in a comfortable, dignified setting.

Keepsakes & Jewelry
There are a number of unique, personalized options to remember your loved one including: keepsakes for cremated remains, diamonds, fingerprint jewelry, and countless other options.

- Arizona Certified Death Certificates $20 each
- Evening/Weekend/Holiday Transfer $75
- Additional Attendant for Transfer $75
Tax, death certificates, obituaries, and Medical Examiner’s fees are additional and not included in package pricing.
Memorial & Traditional Packages
- 100 B&W Memorial Folders From $150
- Memorial Book From $60

An additional $75 transfer fee applies for evening, weekend, and holiday transfers. Cemetery charges, if applicable, are separate and determined by the cemetery of your choosing.
