Obituary

Alexander Patrick Davies Jr., born December 10, 1950, in Morristown, New Jersey, passed
away on May 27, 2025, at his daughter’s home, surrounded by family.

Alex was the oldest of eight siblings in a tight-knit family. From an early age, he stood out as
someone who lived life with intensity, purpose, and heart. He was one of a kind: smart, strongwilled, funny, and deeply loyal to the people he loved.

He and his brother Jim built a successful pool and spa business together. Over the years, Alex
also worked as a safety officer in the roofing industry and in motorcycle sales. He had a natural
charm and an ease with people that led to real friendships he held onto for life.

Riding motorcycles was one of the great joys of Alex’s life. He found freedom and connection
on the road, and through it, built a wide circle of friends who became like family. If you were
lucky enough to be his friend, you knew he would always be there for you, no matter what.
Alex had two children, Mary and Patrick, with Peggy Davies. They were his pride and joy.

His daughter Mary and her husband Matt were instrumental in walking beside him on his faith
journey. In the months before his passing, Alex shared that he wanted to be baptized, and he
was able to fulfill that wish shortly before he died. It was a moment that brought him great
peace and pride.

He was a proud grandfather to Hope, Violet, MJ, Olivia, Jonah, Noah, Hazel, and Meadow, and
he had five great-grandchildren. He had a way of making people feel special with his singing
birthday videos, random phone calls just to check in, and good morning sunshine texts that
reminded those he loved how much he cared.
Alex is survived by his children, Mary and Patrick, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and
his siblings Jim, Carolyn, John, Helen, Susan, and Marjorie. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Alexander Sr. and Marjorie, and his brother Harry.

He lived life on his own terms and gave his whole heart to the people he loved. His strength,
humor, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on June 21, 2025 at Church of the Redeemer,
717 North Stapley Drive, Mesa, Arizona 85203. A reception will follow.
