Obituary
Arthur Gaeta, better known to hundreds of students as Señor, passed peacefully from
this life into eternity on November 23, 2024 in Gilbert, AZ at the age of seventy nine.
His wife, Candace and most of his children, grandchildren, and extended family were
present and surrounded him throughout the day that he passed. Art entered this world on December 4, 1944 in Momax, Zacatecas, Mexico. Growing up in Tehachapi, CA, he was the oldest of nine children born to Roberto and Maria Gaeta. After High School he entered the US Army. He then married Cecilia Sanchez and together they had four children. He graduated from UCLA and soon began a career in teaching Spanish at all levels, including AP Spanish. He also served for twenty four years as an AP Grader. During summers the family would serve as missionaries to Mexico, as well as Art pastored several Spanish churches in Southern California. Another passion for Art was sports and he coached varsity football, basketball, tennis and volleyball.
After Cecilia passed, Art married Candace. The two shared a passionate romance that
lasted twenty nine years. In 2012 Art retired from the Tehachapi Unified School District and they moved to Gilbert, AZ where Art failed at retirement. He continued teaching at Gilbert Christian School and Gilbert Unified. Ultimately, Art retired another three times. During his teaching career he impacted many students to learn the language he was passionate about, but also, he impacted many students for Jesus, always bold in his faith.
Art leaves behind his wife Candace, eight children: Julie (Eric), Gabriel (Shari), Diane (Rob), and David (Anna) Christina, (Brandon), Daniel (Julie), Jonathan, and David. He was a proud Papa to: Alex, Bella, Noah, Zachary, Jacob, Emma, Noe, Maia, Romey, Isa, Lili, Ella, Emmie, Hunter, Hayden, Hyatt, Holden, Huxton, Hope, Penny Jane, Josie, Nolan, and Hattie. Also, Art leaves behind his siblings, Robert, Alice, Joaquin, Annie, Hope, Ruben, and Estella. Art was preceded in death by his parents Roberto and Maria, wife Cecilia, and sister, Yolanda. He was adored by a host of nieces and nephews and many other family members, and close friends.
