Obituary

Brian E. Wirts, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 20, 2024. Born on July 21, 1949 in Detroit Michigan to the late George E. and Sophie M. (Lewandowski) Wirts. He was preceded in death by his older brother Gary along with his wife Kathy and their son Michael Wirts. Survived by their daughter’s Kathy Lawton and Melissa Frisbee. Also preceded in death his younger brother George and his son Ryan Wirts. Survived by his loving wife Billie Wirts and their son’s James, Corey, and Kevin Wirts.

Brian’s early years were spent in Belleville, Michigan where he attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School before graduating from Belleville High School In 1967. He joined the United States Navy shortly after and proudly served his country until 1969. While in the Navy he married Karen Rodeff and was married from 1969-1983. Brian and Karen had two daughter’s Kimberly (Mark) Harris and Christina (Bobby) Schwark. His grandchildren Avery (Hunter Busenbark) Harris and Ciara (Logan Merryfield) Harris and baby Merryfield on the way. Also his beloved dog Sunshine. Some of his hobbies included shooting his guns, tinkering with old cars and tractors along with anything mechanical.
