Obituary

David Glen Peters, 75, lost his battle with cancer Jan 4, 2024 at his home in Mesa, AZ surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Elizabethton, TN, August 27, 1948, he was the son of Virginia Oaks Peters and the late Walter Peters, he was preceded in death by his father Walter Peters in 1975, his son Shawn Michael Peters in 2021, sister in laws Mary Ellen Brady (2019), Nancy McMahon (2021), brother in laws Steve Hagey and Charles Bass, and in-laws Arnold (2002) and Lorraine Steichen (1977).
He graduated from Unaka High School, Elizabethton, TN in 1966. David served proudly in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was of Catholic Faith. He was employed by Deluxe Check Printers for 22 years and continued working in the banking industry until his retirement. Saturdays in the fall, you would find David watching Tennessee Volunteers Football. He enjoyed playing cards, bingo, country music, going to the casino and just hanging out with friends and neighbors. But the greatest joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. He lived most of his life in Arizona.

Those left to cherish his memory include his mother Virginia Peters, Johnson City, TN; his wife of 53 years, Victoria Steichen Peters, Mesa, Az; daughter Amy Peters Trobough (John), Scottsdale, Az; Grandsons, Derek, Cody and Blake Trobough and Granddaughter, Sydney Trobough all of Scottsdale, Az; Sisters, Patricia Ann (Gary) Steichen, Remsen, Ia and Deborah (Wayne) Bays, Piney Floats, Tn; 2 special nieces, Stacey (Jason) Beaupre, Geneva, Il and Jessica (Thomas) Whitehead, Jonesborough, Tn; Aunt Beaulah Peters, Elizabethton, Tn; Uncle Jack (Jeannie) Oaks, Asheville, Nc; His 3 sister in laws, Shirley Bass, Remsen, Iowa, Sandra (Denny) Phillips, Remsen, Iowa, Debbie Hagey, Remsen, Iowa; his 4 brother in laws, Robert Brady, North Sioux City, SD, Gary McMahon, Omaha, NE, Douglas Steichen (Katie), Remsen, Iowa, David (Susie) Steichen, Remsen, Iowa , Dan (Suanne Steichen), Remsen, Iowa; 2 extra special friends Barbara and Charlie Hoss, Mesa, Az and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Monday January 15, 2024 @10:30 am at St. George’s Catholic Church in Apache Junction, Az. 300 E 16th Ave, Apache Junction, AZ 85119.
David will be interred at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
