Obituary

Dennis Lee DeBolt, age 77, resident of Mesa, Arizona, passed away Monday afternoon, March 1, 2021 after a six-year journey with Pulmonary Fibrosis and Alzheimer’s Disease. He passed peacefully and comfortably at home with his children by his side.
Dennis was born in 1943 to parents Paul Reip and Letha Shangle in Kellogg, Idaho. He and his late brother Dale were raised by their mother and loving stepfather, Clint DeBolt. After Clint’s untimely death, the boys both legally took on his last name as they regarded him as their dad while growing up.
Dennis served in the U. S. Air Force from December 1963 to August 1968, serving 11 months in the Vietnam War.
While in college and the military he focused on education in computer programming and information systems management. This knowledge led to a long career in these fields for several corporations; including Fairchild, National Semiconductor and a contracting position for the U.S. Postal Service helping prepare their systems for Y2K.
Dennis is preceded in death by his wife, Kevaleen Sue DeBolt (Boyd) and will be greatly missed by his surviving family; daughter Danielle and her husband Michael Heinle, with grandson Reece and grand-daughters Merritt and Kadian, and son Kevin DeBolt and his wife Kym (Halstead), with grand-daughter Madelyn and grandson Broden, along with nieces, nephews, his beloved dog Milo, and many loving friends.
Dennis enjoyed spending time with family the most, but also had a love for hunting and shooting, fiddling with computers, dabbling in photography, watching movies, and listening to music. Dennis was known by many for his quick wit, kind spirit and abundant generosity. Many of the memories shared by those that knew him are of constant joking, laughter and telling of historical events that were mostly made up.
At this time, no services are scheduled. A Military service and interment at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers or monetary gifts, memorial donations can be made to Oakwood Creative Care (www.oakwoodcreativecare.org) and Hospice of the Valley (www.hov.org). Oakwood is a daily memory care facility that was essential to his well being while navigating through life with dementia and he greatly enjoyed his time there. Hospice of the Valley provided an immense amount of support during his last 8 months of life. His family is incredibly grateful for the staff, services, and care that they received.
