Obituary

Douglas K McVey, [86] of Surprise, Az had a peaceful passing on February 15, 2024 after an extended illness. Douglas served in the Army in South Korea before going to college and earning his bachelor’s degree in the arts. Douglas retired as a collections manager in 2007. Douglas was an avid collector of music and Nautical items. Douglas loved to dance to the music that moved him. He is preceded by his father Delbert P McVey and mother Juanita McVey, and his bonus son Robert Leffel Jr.

He is survived by his precious wife of 59 years Judith K McVey and his son Keith McVey, wife Heather McVey, bonus daughter Sherry Loschi, husband Paul Loschi as well as grandchildren; Allison McVey, Jillian McVey and bonus grandchildren Delbert Ryan Canfarelli, Nicholas Norato Canfarelli, Kristin Renee Canfarelli, Robert James “Jim” Leffel III, wife Sarah E Leffel, Kaylee Leffel and Matthew James Leffel. Douglas had many bonus great-grandchildren; Anthony Allison, Samuel Allison, Isaiah Allison, Jamisyn Leffel, and Robert James “JJ” Leffel IV. Douglas has some extra bonus grandchildren as well; Paul A Loschi Jr. and Adreinne D Hartman, and extra bonus great-grandchildren Cameron R Hartman and Arianna L Watts. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Douglas’s faithful caregiver Jill Rice who cared for him during his illness, her compassion, kindness and caring love were a gift to Douglas during his extended illness.

A private memorial service will be held in Ohio and a date has not yet been announced.
