Obituary

Edward Duane Dieleman, 80, of Gold Canyon, Arizona, passed away on May 1, 2024.

Duane was born on June 27, 1943 to Daniel Dieleman and Marie Vander Leest Dieleman in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He had 3 siblings while growing up in Iowa. He attended Pella High School and graduated in 1961. In 1964, Duane joined the Army and served for 3 years in Military Intelligence in Germany. Upon leaving the Military, he studied Psychology at Central College. While in College, Duane worked part-time as a radio operator at the Pella Police Department. After college, he worked a variety of jobs, including an advertising manager at the Pella Chronicle and an Insurance and Real Estate Agent at the Tulip City Agency. He eventually found a career as a Sales Manager at Vermeer. In 1986, Duane relocated his family to Texas and managed his own business as a Vermeer Parts Distributor.

Duane was adored by his family and loved by friends and neighbors. He will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit, sense of humor, and generosity. He was a devoted husband of 55 years to his beloved wife Sharyl, a father of four, a grandfather to five, a great grandfather to seven, and a cherished brother.

He could often be found on the golf course and played on courses and in leagues all over the country. Duane was even able to celebrate the thrill of a hole-in-one on three occasions.

Duane was predeceased by his sons Larry and Roger, and parents Daniel and Marie. He is survived by his wife Sharyl Dieleman, son Tom Dieleman (Linda), daughter Dani Duba (Michael), sister Eileen Hiemstra (Rich), brothers John Dieleman (Faye) and Jim Dieleman (Johnna), grandchildren Derek Dieleman (Elise), Lindsay Garcia (David), Tanner Dieleman, Logan Dieleman, Noah Duba, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
