Obituary
Elizabeth M. (Porter) MacDonald, 57, passed away on September 26, 2019 at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. She was born to Ward and Carole Porter on March 5, 1962 in Rochester, New York; they preceded her passing. Beth, as she was commonly known, led an active life filled with family and friends. She was also active in her community and church fellowship.
Beth married Daniel MacDonald and they raised her two boys, Michael “Mac” and David MacDonald. She loved her sons and seven grandchildren; Bailey and Shelby, Matthew, Riley, Trinity, Khalil, and Cedes. She is survived by her sons; sisters, Alyse Morey and Anne Oviedo; as well as her step-father, Raul Flores; and her daughter-in-law, Kristen MacDonald.
Beth worked for, and retired from, Fry’s Food Stores, before she began her last, most beloved position as a Mesa Public Schools bus driver. Being a bus driver allowed her to share her kindness with the children on her route. Beth enjoyed baking, Neil Diamond music, and volunteering to feed the homeless. She was raised to give back to the community, which she did even after her demise by giving the gift of life to others through organ donation.
Services are to be held at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3257 East University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85213, from 9:00am to 11:00am on October 5, 2019. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given in Beth’s name to Child Diabetes Research or to the Children of Deceased Veterans, as Beth had a tender heart for all children and came from a very patriotic family with multiple service members.
