Obituary

Gene “Geno” Eddy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away quietly on the morning of August 26, 2024, at Sky Vista Memory Care in Mesa, Arizona. Born and raised in rural Minnesota, Geno’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and the joy of human connection.

Geno is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Shari Eddy; son Dean Eddy and wife, Leann Eddy, their six children and two great grandsons; daughter Donna Parker and husband, Curt Parker, their two children with a great granddaughter on the way; son Nick Casura and wife Rachel Bailey, and their two children; son Ben Casura and wife Amy Becker-Casura, and their two sons. His family was his pride and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

A dedicated college administrator for over 40 years, Geno touched countless lives, forming lifelong friendships with many of his colleagues and students. His commitment to education and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Geno proudly served his country as a US Army Veteran, spending three years stationed in Nuremberg, Germany. His service stories were a cherished part of his life, and proudly shared them.

Outside of his professional and military life, Geno was a motorcycle enthusiast. Passionate about riding on two wheels, wind in his face and enjoying the journey with people he loved. He was also very skilled at playing pool and basketball, excelling in both. But more than anything, Geno loved people. He was always at the ready for a cold beer and a few laughs. His deep compassion and empathy were evident in every interaction, and always made everyone feel genuinely valued and loved.

Geno’s legacy of love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Geno’s favorite hangout, The Handlebar Pub & Grill, located at 650 Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ, on Sunday, September 22nd, at 2 pm. Friends and family are invited to share stories, laughter, and memories of a man who made the world better.
