Obituary
Georgene “Genie” Louise Weber passed away surrounded by her friends and family on November 27, 2024. Genie was born June 26, 1951, in Everett, Washington to George and Helen Berg. As her father George was in the Air Force, the family moved often, traveling overseas to the Philippines, Japan, then moving back to the states. The family lived in Albuquerque, NM and Orlando, FL before settling in Jacksonville, FL where Genie graduated from Orange Park High school in 1969. After high school, Genie went to nursing school, graduating from nursing school in 1971. While in Jacksonville, Genie met Bill on a blind date in 1971.
After Bill returned from deployment they married in 1972 and remained married until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Helen. She is survived by her husband Bill of 52 years, her three children Brent, Brandi and Brett and her Grandchildren Alexis, Elizabeth, Victoria, William, and Brett Jr. She is also survived by her Great Grandchildren Sawyer, Brooklyn and Quincy.
She was very active in Boy Scouts, watching her two sons become Eagle Scouts. She was active in Girl Scouts until Brandi became interested in dance and gave up Girl Scouts. Soon their children’s interests turned to swimming and so from the early 90’s until the early 2000’s we became a swimming family traveling all over Montana attending swimming competitions, both city league and high school.
Genie enjoyed doing crafts her entire life from ceramics to quilting and any other craft that piqued her interest. She enjoyed giving away her creations as gifts to friends and family.
Genie and her family enjoyed travel and camping and early on purchased a travel trailer to pursue those goals. Because of the children’s interest in swimming, they soon purchased a boat and until they retired there was not a lake or river in Montana, Idaho, or Washington that did not see them water skiing or tubing.
Having the travel trailer was a far cry from Genie and Bill’s camping adventures as they went on their honeymoon on Bill’s motorcycle and camped along the Florida coast in their pup tent. As the children left home to pursue their own adventures, Bill and Genie purchased a motorhome and traveled America enjoying many adventures and admiring the many sites available in this wonderous country of ours. After retirement and many years of travel they gave up the motorhome lifestyle and purchased a home in Mesa, Arizona, where Bill currently resides.
