Obituary

Gregory Haushalter “Pirate”, 70 of Apache Junction, AZ passed away on July 20, 2023.  Greg was born and raised in Bellmawr, New Jersey. He was proceeded in death by his parents George and Juanita Haushalter (Willis), and brother Pete Haushalter. He was the youngest of three children, with two older brothers, Pete (deceased) and Bruce Haushalter of Florida.

Greg graduated from Triton Regional High School in 1971. Shortly after graduation he moved to California. After living and working in California he moved to Apache Junction in 2008.

Greg’s nickname, Pirate, came about because of his interest in all things related to pirates. His collection of pirate memorabilia is extensive. He enjoyed attending pirate festivals, always in costume.  Renaissance Fairs was another favorite place Greg went to.  If a state has a renaissance fair Greg has been there.

Following his wishes, there will not be a service but well-wishers are encouraged to write his name on your favorite drink, for Pirate that would be rum, and drink it in his honor. He was never one for sentiment, but if he owes you for a drink, and you find him in Heaven, he will gladly let you buy him another. One of a kind, he will be missed.

Friends are invited to a get-together to remember Greg on July 29, 2023 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at Golden Vista Resort, 3710 S. Goldfield Rd Apache Junction, AZ at the park community center in the Navajo room located near the swimming pool.
