Hearn, Rodger Wayne

Obituary

Rodger Wayne Hearn, 69, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017. Rodger was born July 28, 1947, in San Luis Obispo, CA to Nellie Ledford and George Hearn.

His family relocated and he attended school in Crestline, Ohio, where he would meet the love of his life, Cheryl.  They would soon move to Tucson, AZ, and spend the next 44 years blissfully married there. Rodger was an avid bowler, sports fan (Go Bucks!), and gambler who also loved a good old fashioned Western movie from time to time. Over the years he worked in the Arizona copper mines, as a truck driver for Payless, and as a truck driver/ associate at Home Depot.

Rodger is preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and George, and most notably his beloved wife Cheryl.

He is survived by siblings James (Cecille) Ledford, John (Mary Ann) Hearn, and Ann Stallings, in addition to very dear friends George and Jane Basakos, many close friends in Tucson, and numerous relatives across the United States.

A simple man, Rodger asked that no memorial services be held. In lieu of flowers or donations, he would have humbly asked that you spend time with loved ones and/or toast your next Bud Light in his honor.

Sorry to hear about your loss. He was a great friend and co-worker at Home Depot. He will be missed greatly. I am glad that he is in a better place now with his beloved wife. He touched so many lives. A great honor to work with him and be his friend.

  2. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

    My condolences.
