Al Cronin, 87, of Mesa, AZ, died on December 15, 2022 following complications after a stroke. Al was born in Kellerton, IA to Marian and Paul Cronin; the family moved to Grand Junction, IA  a few years later.  After graduating as Class President from Grand Junction High in 1954, Al moved to Des Moines where he attended AIB Business School and met Karol Donovan; they married in 1956 and raised their family in Des Moines.  Al worked as an executive in the trucking industry for over 30 years.  In the early 70’s he was Cubmaster and then Scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts.  He was also a Mason, a Shiner, and an active member of their Clown Unit. In 1983, he and Karol moved to Tempe, AZ.  They retired in 1998 and after Karol’s death in 2001, Al continued his work with the Shriners. He spent nine happy years with Phyllis Butler until her death in 2011. He enjoyed summers in Iowa and winters in Arizona, the last several with his dear companion, Ramona.
