Obituary

James W. Ramey II, 54 loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away peacefully but unexpectedly in the early morning of February 1, 2025. He was surrounded by his parents on his last day and by his wife Elizabeth Ramey until his last breath.

Jim was a graduate of the University of Akron class of 2000. Computer programming undergraduate and a MIS degree. He was the Director of Digital imaging for Dentimax for the past 15 yrs which he greatly enjoyed and took great pride in working for over the years .

Jim was born October 12, 1970 in Middleburg Heights, Ohio to Kathy Owen(O’Brien). Jim spent his early years in Strongsville and Medina/ Akron Ohio before moving to Arizona and settling in Gilbert, Arizona in 2010. After 5 years together Jim and Elizabeth were married in a private ceremony in September 2012 on the island of Oahu. They would spend every anniversary for years at a different Hawaiian island celebrating. He loved Arizona’s sunsets, it’s beauty, weather and lifestyles with a passion. His favorite places to go for a weekend away were Sedona AZ, Flagstaff AZ, Vegas NV, and Colorado Springs, CO where he and his wife spent many wonderful times. His favorite times however were always a quiet evening at home with Elizabeth and their 3 dogs, eating a good dinner and watching their favorite movies and tv shows.

Jim was a talented artist who had a passion for cooking, learning new languages, knowledge, history, watching anime, collecting cards, golfing and planning a dream vacation to Japan one day.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Francis and Clara Jean Ramey(Grammy) and John and Cecelia O’Brien, his cousin Katherine Steele Ausdenmoore and nephew Koi James Griffin all who loved him dearly.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth A. Ramey, his parents Kathleen and Larry Owen, his In laws LaVonne and Dean Hauptman his brothers John (Jill)Ramey, Bradley Ramey, brothers-in-law, Robert (Gayle)Hauptman, Adam Hauptman, and step brother Larry Jr (Cheryl)Owen. His Aunts and Uncle, Ann (Robert)Cesner, Jane (Scott)Gregory, and James (Katherine)O’Brien and many cousins.

As well as his nieces and nephews that he adored Devon(Tyler)Gonzalez, Cydney Ramey, Alex Hauptman, Mina Griffin, Emma Hauptman, Bella Hauptman, Corey(Chelsee)Owen, and Cami Owen.

A service of remembrance, will take place in Ohio in the Summer of 2025.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
