Obituary

Karen Sprague Yost Jones, 86, passed away on 20 May 2023 in Mesa AZ after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Karen started her life on 15 February 1936 in Otto, Wyoming.  Born to Vernon A and Jenna Mae Beck Sprague. She grew up in Worland, Wyoming surrounded by many extended family members throughout the state.  Karen married Richard Jones and moved to AZ in 1969. She was a stay at home mom working as a bookkeeper as her children grew. She loved working with numbers, computers, researching genealogy and Sci-Fi. She loved spending time with the grandkids when ever possible. As as faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she served many callings over the years. Karen was married twice and survived both, Don Yost  and Richard Jones. Between them they had five chidren, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren whom she loved all very much.

Karen is survived by her sister Jacelynne Dwyer and preceded in death by her parents, one sister Verna Bush, and brothers Gary and John “Irving” Sprague.

A celebration of Life service will be held on 24 June 2023 at 11AM.  Location is the LDS church building on 7145 E Monterey Ave. Mesa, AZ 85209.  Family and friends can watch the service via the following link:

Karen will be missed and is loved by many. Her and Richard’s ashes will be spread at a later date.
