Obituary

Lupe Meurer, 73 years old, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025.

Lupe is remembered by her husband Keven Meurer, her son Keven Meurer Jr. Her Sister Terry Carrillo and her two Brothers Frankie Alvarado and Rudy Alvarado. Along with many nieces and nephews, friends, and so many other people that she loved.

Lupe was preceded in death by her mother Carmen Alvarado, her father Ramon Alvarado, her brothers George Alvarado, Joe Alvarado, Raymond Alvarado and Henry Arvayo.

She was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. She worked at Motorola/General Dynamics for 55 years. She was a dedicated and extremely hard worker that rarely took time off regardless of how she was feeling. Her family and friends insisted that she retire but that was just never an option. She was admired by many of her coworkers because of her dedication and work ethic.

In the rare event that she did take time off or on her days off she would spend it with her friends going to breakfast, lunches and occasionally a fun game of bingo. She loved spending time with her family cooking, talking about football, laughing and enjoying life’s little moments.

Lupe met her husband, Keven Meurer on July 4th, 1985 and got married in Hawaii on February 2nd, 1987.

She gave birth to her son on February 23, 1990. She cared for and protected him with unconditional love. To say she was the best mother to him is an understatement.

She was always there for her family and friends. She put everyone else before herself and always saw the good in people. She was truly one of a kind.

Her strength was tested in May of 2023 when she discovered she had stage 3 gallbladder cancer. She then had 6 months of chemotherapy along with many surgeries, followed with radiation. In March of 2024 she was officially cancer free. She lived a great, healthy life until the cancer came back in August of 2025. However her strength and resilience amazed many as she did not give up and fought until the very end.

What a legacy Lupe has left.

A memorial will be held on September 5th, 2025 at 2pm to honor Lupe’s life.

  2. I’ve known Lupe my entire life. Her son KJ and I were each other’s first friends and swimming buddies. Lupe was never afraid to give me that “mom look” even well into adulthood. I love her so much and to hear of her passing felt like I lost a bonus mom. My deepest condolences and prayers to her family, especially KJ as he is my oldest friend. My heart goes out to them but I know Lupe will never stop looking out for those she loves. <3

    Love Always and Forever,
