Obituary

Paul August Fischer passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at home surrounded by family.

Paul was born on December 7, 1929 in St. Louis. Paul was an engineer and owned his company, “Fischer Equipment Company”.  Paul volunteered throughout his life at the Salvation Army, the Carondelet YMCA and their annual book fair, and at St. Lucas Evangelical Church.  Paul’s passion was restoring cars. A big thank you to Carl Fischer (nephew) for making his dream come true by finishing the restoration of his 1935 Chrysler Airflow.

Paul was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Jane Fischer. Paul leaves behind his 3 daughters, Jill George, Susie Rodriguez & Jan Smith and many other family members. Paul was a beloved father, step-father, god-father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.

We will be celebrating Paul’s life on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Trattoria Toscana, 11686 Gravois Road, St. Louis, from 1 to 4 PM (open house style). Please come prepared with a memory or story about Paul to share. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Missouri Botanical Garden or the Salvation Army.
