Ricardo E. “Rick” Tafoya

Ricardo Edwardo Tafoya, age 69 of Globe/Miami, AZ passed away on February 25, 2024 at his sister’s home in Queen Creek, AZ with his loved ones at his side.
Ricardo (Rick) was born on January 14, 1955 in Phoenix, AZ to Onofre and Armelina Tafoya. Rick attended San Manuel High School where he was an avid athlete and excelled in Track and Field where he won numerous track awards. Rick Graduated from San Manuel High School in 1973. He soon went to work at the Magma Underground mine in San Manuel and Married Margie Valenzuela and had two Children.
Following a divorce Rick Moved to Globe, Arizona and Married Maria Robles. Rick welcomed her two kids into his life, and together they had two children of their own. Rick enjoyed watching and coaching his children play sports. He revolved his life around his children whom he loved unconditionally.
Rick was a kind and giving man. Everyone who met him, laughed with him and enjoyed his cool calm demeanor. Later Rick married the love of his life Nikki Lertique together they enjoyed each other’s company, laughing and listening to music until Nikki’s passing.
Rick enjoyed being with his family and friends. He loved to laugh and had an amazing smile. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and watching his grandchildren grow up. Rick was close to his brother, and sister and spent a lot of time with them.
Rick is preceded in death by his father, Onofre Tafoya, and mother Armelina Tafoya, Sibling Susan Arroyo and the love of his life Nikki Tafoya.
Rick is Survived by his children Jesse (Stephany) Tafoya, Thomas Tafoya, Derrick (Ernestina) Tafoya. Daughters Nola (Mike) Martinez, Reyna Tafoya. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren, Joseph Tafoya, Evan Tafoya, Emery Tafoya, Gianna Tafoya, Penelope Tafoya, Audiana Arrellin, Victor Arrellin Jr., Alicia Macias, Sophia Macias, Nevaeh Tafoya, Mya Tafoya, Erica Tafoya. Siblings Marty (Joy)Tafoya, Dolores Tafoya (Bob Escobedo), Inez Tafoya, Victoria Tafoya, Sonia Tafoya and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Rick will be held with date and time to be determined.
