Obituary

Sharon Ann Jones, age 82, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Sharon was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 1, 1943, to Helen Heberling and Harold Dickson.

Sharon had a great love for quilts, linens, and fine China, and enjoyed reading, gardening, and watching Westerns and the Hallmark Channel. Sharon also prided herself on keeping a clean and orderly home and made sure her family did as well.

An avid writer, Sharon always kept in touch with her loved ones, be it through e-mail or handwritten letters.

Sharon made many contributions to various charities over the years, especially for animals, for which she had a deep love.

Before she retired, Sharon worked as a caregiver for in-home care with Home Instead Care Services for 12 years, where she touched many people’s lives in their time of need.

Sharon is predeceased by her parents and two older siblings, Elaine Campbell and Harold Lange.

Sharon is remembered by her two sons, David and Dean Athey; her two sisters, Diane Jahnke and Kathy Foster; and her three grandchildren, Taryn, Joshua, and Jordan Athey.
