Obituary

Leonard Ralph Woods passed away on February 19, 2018 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born December 25, 1925 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was married to Jean Marie (Workman) Woods. He was a WWII veteran and served as an ambulance driver in Europe during the war. 

His children are:

Bruce Woods: “He always said that you have to know the difference between right and wrong and to treat people the way you want to be treated”

Steve Woods: “Thanks Dad for everything. You will always be in my thoughts. Love you”

Peggy (Woods) Briggs: “Dad was someone to look up to as we were growing up. He always told us, you know right from wrong and good from bad, have a good time. He always trusted us to make our own decisions and he allowed us to as we were growing up”

Bob Woods: “Dad was the rock and driving force behind being independent and self-sufficient”. While he may not walk among us anymore, he is still with us in our hearts”

Larry Woods: “I love you dad”

Cherie Lee (Woods) Portinga: “There was never a doubt he had a passion for life & family. We are his legacy, we must pass that on to future generations with the telling of his life stories. Forever in our hearts.” 

His Grandchildren are: Jason Woods (Flagstaff, AZ), Josh Woods (Windsor, WI), Alex Woods (Dublin, CA), Jonathan Portinga (Grovetown, GA), Christian Portinga (active duty in the US Army) 

His Great Grandchildren are: Matisyn Woods (Flagstaff, AZ), Conner Woods (Flagstaff, AZ) 

No Services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Len and Jean Woods name to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.ALZ.org) or to your local non-profit hospice.
