Obituary

We sadly report the passing of Carol Ann Beckett, born on February 2, 1950, in Hutchinson, Minnesota to her parents, Lee and Mary Cooper, now deceased.  Carol, or “Beckett” as many close friends called her, departed this earthly plain in search of a new adventure on April 7, 2022, in Chandler, Arizona.  Her inquisitive mind and playful personality that delighted us here on earth will now be providing laughs and fun in another dimension.

Carol was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and dear friend.  She loved people and books, art, and learning about the world.  Having traveled extensively, she was always willing to try something new.  Her zest for life was unparalleled.

It is Carol’s wish that we not gather together in remembrance, but instead be kind to someone else, especially a stranger; make them laugh, give them a flower, or blow them a kiss.  She will feel the love you show others on her behalf for she is not really gone so long as we remember her.

I have to agree that Carol’s zeal for life and learning about the world, people, places and things hold true. Like the time Carol attended Warren Miller’s film, Timeless Ski In The Sun with David and I at ASU Gammage Auditorium. The film took us around the world to the greatest places to ski known to man. She applauded the beauty of the mountain slopes in Austria and in St. Moritz Switzerland and the skills of the people who made this amazing film possible.
At the end of the film and with her keen sense of humor she quickly but graciously declined our invite for a ski trip to Sunrise Arizona Ski Resort. What a fun night that was!

One afternoon Carol and I were reminiscing and laughing over the book by Dr. Seuss, “The Sneetches”. She shared with me that it was one of her favorite stories.
Did you know that Carol was a fan of Michael Bolton’s song “Time, Love and Tenderness”?

Carol was a blessing in my life. Her simple acts of kindness and her expressions of gratitude for all the goodness that encompassed her life I will fondly hold within my heart.

Heather I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved mother and to Cathy, Larry and Charles for the loss of your dear sister Carol Ann.

May God bless you with peace and special memories of Carol to help you through this sad time.

    Sincerely,
    Oly
