Obituary

Donald “Donny” Thomas Ross, 31, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at Banner University Medical Center surrounded by his family and friends after losing his battle with liver disease.

Donny was born March 10, 1993, in Milwaukee, WI to Donald Allen Ross and Courtnay Jane Malo. Donny had a love for music and for animals – especially his dog, Phoebe, and his cat, Bastet.

He is survived by many who loved and cared for him: his parents; Donald Ross and Courtnay Malo, his step-mom; Jannette Ross, siblings; Harmony “Simon” and Gwenyth Weidner, Angel Ross, and Nathaniel and Jordan Espinoza, grandparents; Thomas and Mary Jo Malo, Grandma Patty, Nana Sylvia Barela and Tha Tha Danny Barela, his person and life partner; Alyx Martin, aunts; Hilary (Gary) Bach, Gabrielle Malo, Meredith (Jallel) Wege, and Cindy Gehlert, Debbie Dawson, uncles; Hugh (Brittney) Malo, Hudson Malo, and Kelly Malo, Art Renner, and many friends and cousins.

Donny was preceded in death by his Glogowski grandparents, uncle Bobby Glogowski, aunt Renee Green, and his beloved puppy, Romeo, who we know welcomed him into Heaven with a wagging tail.

A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at A Wise Choice Funeral Home in Mesa, Arizona.

Although Donny is no longer with us here on earth, we know we have a special angel watching over us. We love and miss you, Donny.

I’m soooo sorry for everyone’s loss of “lil” Donny. My heart goes out to all of you.

  2. DJ- say it ain’t so. I know I was a long past part of your life-back then I was crazy& for that I am sorry. I wish I could have been better. It is very strange to type this because no one ever thought I would live long enough…I always loved you and your dad- & I am grateful for what you both taught me. I wish I could have been better back then- but what you and your dad helped teach me- is a large part of why I am still alive.

I am super proud of the difference that Romeo made in you; that helping you get that dog made so much of a difference in your life here.

Now you’re bringing that sexy back to the afterlife! Save me a Baconator!
