Obituary

Earl A. Gursky passed away on October 23, 2018 in his home at Brookdale Senior Living Community in Apache Junction, Arizona. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 13, 1932 to Frank and Louise Gursky. He is survived by his daughter, Delri L. Hanson; granddaughter Taryn Golden (Brad); and his great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Frank Gursky (Pat), and their son, Alan. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert P. Gursky, and former wife, Dolores A. Gursky.

Earl was in the US Navy for 20 years, serving that time in submarines. After retiring from the Navy, he managed the Brookside Winery in Tempe, AZ for a few years until it closed. He then finished his schooling to be certified as a teacher and worked for the Unified Payson School District for 13 years. He taught 4th and 5th grades, making a huge impact on many young lives during that time.

Delri….I was trying to get a hold of Earl about 4 months ago…his phone was no longer in service…decided to look him up on facebook….then decided to check obituaries….I considered your father a dear, dear friend….I visited him about 4 or 5 yrs ago in AJ….maybe longer than that, but I loved him and his friendship….I read the obituary after I put in a search for him….I could always talk to your father about anything that was going on in my life…last time I saw him he was in pain in his knee and back….but assured me that when he went to the casino to play slots…the pain went away….we had a real laugh about that…I hope all is well in your life….Sorry, I did not reach out earlier to him……
    Respectfully, Gary Basilo
