Obituary

Surrounded by family on Dec. 20th, 2020 our Mom was called to heaven after 3 years of declining health. She was born to Italian Immigrant father Pasquale Agostino and Rainier Valley born mother Salvatrese Vivolo Agostino. She grew up in West Seattle with her two sisters, Joanne and Patricia, many cousins and special friend Elsie Sacco. Mom went to Holy Rosary Grade School and High School. After graduation she worked at Best’s Apparel, later to become Nordstrom Best and met her soulmate and our dad at an Italian Club Dinner. They married in 1952 and eventually moved to Beacon Hill where mom started her career as full time wife, mother and homemaker, which she was wonderful at them all.

In 1964 Mom and Dad moved their ever growing family to Pike’s Peak in Bellevue, raising us in the boonies (it was a long distance call to Seattle!) with cats, dogs, rabbits, ducks and horses. Mom volunteered for years in the Guild at Holy Family Parish in Kirkland, and ran the kitchen during Bingo Nights there. She loved trips to Reno, going on Church Retreats, cooking and canning, crafting, mushroom hunting, bingo and bowling with her many friends and relatives. She was most happy spending time with family, extended relatives and friends. She was great at entertaining and we always had huge birthday and holiday parties with our house filled with laughs, lively conversation and a lot of great Italian food. Coming home from school we would open the door, and be greeted by the best aromas of her cooking.

After our dad passed unexpectedly in 1980, mom became a Travel Agent at Continental Travel, was a Hostess at Teo’s Mia Roma, and took a greater interest in horse racing. She traveled the US including Hawaii and went to Korea. She even went up in a helicopter and hot air balloon and developed a love for antiques.

In 1985, after 21 years in the home she and daddy raised us, Mom decided to take on a new adventure and moved to Cle Elum, Wa. There she loved owning her antique store,“Trovare” and made many new friends. After she closed her shop she continued enjoying the antique business and worked at “The Tuck Away” in Cle Elum. She enjoyed Cle Elum very much but after many years she tired of the long cold winters. In 2014 she moved to Arizona where she found the winters were wonderful, and to be closer to some of her children who had relocated there.

Our mom was preceded in death by her most beloved husband Louie, Granddaughter Dina Delorie, and her very special friend Jim McGregor.

She is survived by her children SaSa Kirkpatrick (Kenny), Louie Jr. (Nikki), Patrick, Gina (Dave), and Barbara. Mom was ecstatic to be a grandmother and she leaves Michael Kirkpatrick (Marie), and Tina Atabaki (Shon), Rianna Delorie-Benford (John), and Louie Delorie III, Dominic Delorie (Lindsay) and Marcella Delorie (and their mother Dana) and Brandon Johnson. And her great grandchildren, Johnny, Sofia, Oscar, Caroline, Revelle, Bailey, and Baby Boy Delorie due March 12th, 2021. Sisters Joanne Sposari and Patricia Agostino, Sisters in-law Marge Delorie and Rosemary McKelvey (Jerry) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many many friends.

We would like to thank Mom’s Visiting Angels Judy and Maggie who kept her laughing and entertained, and Savior Hospice who helped us navigate the last 3 weeks of her life, keeping our mom as comfortable as possible.

We would also like to thank our sister Gina, from the bottom of our hearts for her unfaltering care and love she showed mom while mom lived with her in Arizona these past years as her health was failing. You made our mother’s later years in life the best that it could be and we are forever grateful!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in our mom’s memory to Bainbridge Performing Arts  200 Madison Ave North Bainbridge Island, Wa. 98110  att: Dominique Cantwell or to a charity of your choice.

Due to Covid-19, a celebration of Mom’s life will be at a later date, where her cremains will be buried with our dad, at Sunset Hills Memorial Cemetery in Bellevue, Wa.

No more broken heart, together forevermore.
