In Loving Memory of James Lawrence Barbee (Jim)
Jan. 04, 1949 – Oct. 14, 2022 (age 73)

Jim was born in Grants Pass, Ore. His family moved to Arizona when he was a young child. He spent his childhood growing up in the East Valley and loved the majestic views of Superstition Mountains and had hiked them many times in his younger years with his family.
During his working career, he moved to Texas and Virginia but always returned to Arizona, the place he most loved.
He liked working in his yard when he was able and loved to see the desert in bloom and enjoyed the Arizona Sunsets.
Jim loved to sing, especially the old Gospel Hymns. He loved to laugh and tell jokes. He loved animals.
Jim is proceeded in death by both his parents (Mother) Helen E. Hunter (Father) Harold L. Barbee, both of Mesa, Az.
Jim is survived by his sister Carol Redfield of Pendleton, Ore. including many nieces and nephews, also in Ore.
Sister, Jo Lynn (Jody) Nagel of Gilbert, Az. Brother, Mark Barbee of Mesa, Az. Nephew, Sean Martin of Phx, Az. Great Nephew,
Benjamin also of Phx. Az. His adopted son, Daniel Illig and grandson Daniel Jr. both from Globe, Az.
The family would like to extend appreciation to Banner Medical, Hospice of the Valley and Bunker Funeral Home for the care and compassion provided to James and his family during this difficult time.
A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date.
