  3. I was caught off-guard and saddened to hear of the news about Judy’s passing. My heart felt condolences to every one in the family!

I got to know Judy through my work and in that connection I saw her many, many times. Always someone to share a good story and offer her smiles…she made me laugh. Often! Perhaps, what I’ll always remember about Judy, however, is her inclusivity of others. I got to be a recipient of this warm character trait and because of that met some pretty amazing people I know she loved dearly–her family!! They are all apples that haven’t fallen far from the tree. “Good people”, as my father would say. All of them!

In the days to come, I know there will be many memories shared. I’d like to leave the family with a favorite of mine. Years ago, I celebrated a birthday with a 50’s theme. It was a hot, July day, but true to the theme Jerry and Judy arrive (along with Susie and her spouse) in perfect vintage trucks and Judy has a cheerleader emblem (from her own letter jacket, perhaps?) on. They were my guests, and yet…when I glanced around the party, I saw Judy at the pig cooker, carving up the roast pig to serve to my Guests! All smiles, having fun, and not afraid to jump in and help!! That’s just who she was…

    She will be missed.

Hugs to you, her Loved Ones,
    Patricia

    Hi Jerry,
My heart goes out to you at is very heavy time of sorrow. You and Judy had a substantial life together it appears. I am sure the change for you will take some time to adjust to. You have three children and they will be of great comfort to you until you find your new normal. I am sure you are busy with the business that happens when some one dies. I am praying for you at this very had time of loss. I do know what it feels like, it’s been 8 yeas for me now and it does get easier but never goes away. Less pain however
