Mary Elizabeth Howe

Mary Elizabeth Howe passed away at the age of 88. She was the widow of Orlis D. Howe.

Mary was born near Hart, West Virginia and was the oldest of ten children. Mary was proud of her Appalachian heritage. She loved cooking, baking, hosting large family gatherings, and doting on her grandchildren. Mary crocheted, knitted, and sewed many handmade items that she gave to family and friends.

As a young woman, Mary moved from the mountains of West Virginia to Jackson, Michigan where she married Orlis. They lived many years in his hometown of Leslie. Later they relocated to Arizona.

Mary retired from Cox Communications Mesa Tribune as an accounting clerk. Previously, she was the receptionist and accounting clerk for JW Communications of Jackson, Michigan.

Mary was proud to support the United Way and the American Cancer Society. She often sent donations to school food banks and holiday gift baskets.

Mary is survived by her son, Cary Howe; her daughter, Teri Terasaki; son in-law, Dean Terasaki; granddaughter, Kimberly and grandson, Brian. Mary is also survived by her sisters: Sadie Withiel, Louise Sutherland, and Norma Daly as well as brothers: Jack Baisden, Cary Baisden Jr., Charles Baisden, and Kevin Baisden. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary will be interred at the Arizona National Cemetery where Orlis is resting.
