Michael Lloyd Barry, a cherished husband, devoted father and beloved grandfather, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on March 30, 2026. Born on January 28, 1941, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Michael’s life was a testament to love, service and unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
Michael was the cherished son of the late Edward and Isabel Barry, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion that he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Edward, his sister Patricia, his son Michael and his grandson Cody. Despite the heartaches of such losses, Michael’s resilient spirit and love of life remained a bright light for his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Judith, with whom he shared a remarkable 62-year marriage. Together they built a family that became the joy of his life. He is also survived by his loving daughters, Patricia Barry and Michele Carlin, and his son-in-law Joseph. His legacy of love will also continue through his sister, Ilona Bulman, his three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Michael was known for his amazing smile, larger than life personality, kind heart and big bear hugs. He touched the lives of so many with his wisdom and warmth. His family and friends knew him as a hard-working man, always ready to lend a helping hand, but also, one who never missed a chance to celebrate life. Michael’s commitment to his family was unparalleled and his presence in their lives will be deeply missed.
In honoring Michael’s wishes, we will gather to celebrate his life and the impact he had on all who were fortunate enough to know him. Date to be announced later.
As we bid farewell to Michael, we remember a life filled with love, laughter and unwavering dedication to family. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace, reunited with those who have gone before him, and may his legacy of kindness and love inspire us all.
