Obituary

Priscilla Owens Crozier went home to her Lord and Savior at the age of 90 on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 in Gilbert, AZ. She was born on Friday, June 23, 1933 in Haddon Heights, NJ.

She is survived by five of her six children: Diana Crozier Manchester (Glen), Elizabeth Crozier Gabriel (Bill), John (Jack) Owens Crozier (Jan), Robyn Crozier Ulmer (Lee), and Susan Crozier Schmersahl (Jeff); daughter-in-law Susan Crozier (widow of Stephen Crozier); brother Hugh William Robertson (Joan), and sister-in-law Carolyn Crozier Kline; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces and three nephews.

Priscilla is predeceased by her husband William Henry Crozier (Bill), son Stephen William Crozier (Susan), father John Owens, mother Kathryn Grace Robertson (nee Heller), stepfather Hugh Robertson, and sisters Kathy Robertson and Marjorie Erickson.

Priscilla grew up in Haddon Heights, NJ and attended 7th Avenue Elementary and Haddon Heights High School, where she took the secretarial course, graduating in 1952. On June 7, 1952 she married William Crozier of Audubon, NJ, whom she had met at Haddon Heights Baptist Church. She and Bill’s sister, Carolyn Kline became best friends as teenagers and remained close throughout Priscilla’s life.

Priscilla’s children were her pride and joy. Her happiest times were when the family was all together. She was a sacrificial mother to her six children, with their happiness as the goal, making every holiday special – especially Christmas – with her wonderful spritz and chocolate crinkle cookies, sentimental decorations throughout the house, and hosting lots of extended family visits. She loved creating fun picnics at pretty locations, sewing Halloween costumes and doll clothes, welcoming her children’s friends into the home, and best of all sharing Jesus Christ with them. Her children and grandchildren all felt so much love for all she did for them in so many ways.

Priscilla’s primary roles were wife, mother and homemaker, but occasionally took part-time jobs as a secretary, retail sales associate and administrative assistant. She was always active in the churches she attended, and served at various times as a Sunday School teacher/superintendent (and wonderful Bible story-teller who captivated her young audiences), youth leader, deaconess, Missions Committee leader, and home Bible Study hostess. She loved singing hymns and knew most of them by heart, and among her favorite Scripture passages were John 14 and Romans 8. Her love for Jesus Christ was her compelling motivation and was evident in all she did.

Over the years, she and her family made their home in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, California, Missouri and Arizona. Priscilla left dear friends and made good memories in each place.

Her interests were church life, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, getaway trips, Bible study, home decorating, serving as president of the community homeowners association, and keeping up with the news, especially politics. She moved to Eternal Spring Assisted Living & Memory Care in Gilbert, AZ in March 2021, where she lived until passing. Final arrangements were provided by A Wise Choice funeral home in Mesa, AZ. A private memorial gathering is scheduled for October at Sandy Cove Retreat Center, MD, where she and Bill were married.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her cherished Mission to the World (https://mtw.org/).
