Obituary

Sharon Gayle Causley passed away Monday, August 23 in Mesa, AZ at the age of 71. She was born on December 19, 1949 in Jackson, MI to Ray and Loreen Causley and grew up in Hessel, MI. She later moved to Sault Ste. Marie, MI where she worked as a hairstylist and operated her own shop. She held many other jobs with Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians and other organizations. She was the consummate hippie and attended WoodStock in 1969. She loved Rock-n-Roll, her native heritage and most of all, her 3 children: Derek Causley, Rachel Causley and Hank Gravelle. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren: Nathan (Lindsay) Piche, Christopher Causley, Alyson Piche, Mercedes Causley and Dorian Causley and 10 great grandchildren: Audrea, Nash, Noah, Mason & Jace, Maddie, Lennon & Landry and Noxx & Luca. She was a “proud” grandma and Yaya. She had many close friends who adored her, her quick wit, fun and sarcastic humor and will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Loreen (Andrews) Causley, brothers Ray and Lawrence Causley and granddaughter Mercedes Causley. She is survived by her sons, Derek Causley and Hank Gravelle, her daughter, Rachel Causley, brother Bob (Jan) Causley, and sisters Melanie Vanderlooven and Valerie (Jim) Huffman. A private viewing was held August 27, 2021 at A Wise Choice Desert View Chapel in Mesa, AZ. Her family will celebrate her life in Michigan at the Hessel Community Center in Hessel, MI from 10am-noon on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
